Future Author in the making. Congratulations to Year 10 student Zahra, for winning the GDNLife's Short Story competition for May. The standard of entries to this competition is always very high, and we are so proud of her achievement.
In Zahra's interview with GDN, she said “I have studied at the BSB since I was three and I am thankful to have had the opportunity to be taught by the best of teachers, many of whom introduced me to many famous literary authors.
JK Rowling is one of the many authors I really appreciate and she inspired me to write stories of my own that I occasionally narrate to my younger siblings.
Reading books, especially in my younger years, helped me see how much of an impact words can have on different people. This is why I decided to write my short story about how we view others because of how they look.”
Her perfect piece called Perceptions, received more than 6,000 views on gdnlife.com.
Many congratulations on behalf of the entire BSB community, and we look forward to seeing future literary accomplishments.
