The determination of the British School of Bahrain’s students has always been on show during the turbulence caused by the global pandemic. Despite the challenges, students were able to continue their education unaffected. Our School in Bahrain is delighted to announce that the students in Year 11 and Year 13 achieved outstanding academic results in both GCSE and A Level examinations.

In the same year as the Tokyo Olympics, the motto of Citius, Altius, Fortius (faster, higher, stronger) could be a fitting description for the BSB students. They have once again been stronger and have achieved higher results than other cohorts. The students aimed for gold and certainly have achieved it.

The Class of 2021’s results place them as one of the best cohorts within the school’s long history, however, this group of talented students achieved more than just academic success. The British School of Bahrain is renowned for its holistic education.

The school’s all-round approach to education is also evident within these results, with students achieving equally highly in the Sciences, Mathematics, the Arts and the Humanities.

teachers, demonstrated outstanding determination and self-belief with a willingness to face all challenges during the global pandemic. To achieve such excellent results is highly impressive, and to do it during the uncertainty caused by COVID-19 is staggering. I know that there will be many happy families and proud BSB parents.

Many of the BSB Year 13 students have received offers from some of the best universities in the world. The School has a strong alumni network and we are looking forward to celebrating these results in December 2021, with a reunion and networking event.

Mr Wayne Ridgway, Head Teacher of the BSB Senior School, commented:

“I am honoured and thrilled by the exceptional results of our graduating class of 2021. Both students and teachers have shown incredible resilience in an ever changing learning landscape. I admire the graduates’ tenacity, determination and desire to succeed and I am confident that they are all well prepared to transition into university life due to the well-rounded education that they have received. I am sure that they will continue to be great ambassadors for The British School of Bahrain and I wish them every success in their future careers and endeavours.”
