We are delighted that you are considering to enrol your children at the British School of Bahrain, one of the most prestigious private schools in Bahrain.

How do I join the BSB Family?

To register, simply complete the Application Form online, making sure you have all the documents listed on hand.

Required documents:

  • Child's Passport
  • Child's CPR Card (if available at time of application)
  • Copy of both both Parent's Passport
  • Copy of both Parent's CPR cards (if available at time of application)
  • Child Immunisation Records
  • Passport-sized Photograph of Child
  • School Report
  • Previous School Transfer Certificate (if applicable)

Pay necessary fees:

  • 50 BD application fee

Application Form

Our students come from all parts of the world and we understand that different national school systems are not always the same. However it is our policy to place students in their correct age grouping, according to the English National Curriculum programme and complying with Bahrain Ministry of Education requirements.

The Private Education Directorate of the Ministry of Education of Bahrain mandates that students entering Year 3 and above must adhere to the attached procedures to gain approval for admission to the British School of Bahrain.  You are required to submit an original transfer certificate and most recent school report with the necessary attestations from the relevant authorities in the country of issue. Please read the full procedures and ensure you obtain the appropriate Embassy/Apostille stamps and attestations before you depart from your previous country of residence.
 

After the application is completed, each student must successfully complete age appropriate assessments.

*During COVID 19 we are no longer conducting face-to-face assessments and assessments will be conducted based on previous school reports and pastoral references. Our academic team will review your child’s previous school report and will be able to confirm whether we can offer your child a place. Further online interviews or observations may be required. All admissions are subject to a successful entrance assessment, based on the child’s age at the test date according to the British Curriculum and the last grade completed.

Children applying to Nursery will be assessed on their Readiness for School which includes English language development, social skills and behaviour.

Children applying to Year 1 and Year 2 are given standardised tests in Math and English appropriate to their age. In addition to this, they will also be evaluated on their ability to sustain a conversation, social skills and behaviour.

Applicants will complete an age appropriate online entrance assessment under exam conditions consisting of a Maths section, English section and Non-Verbal Reasoning section, followed by a written task.

A-Level/GCSE Qualifications
A minimum of five passes at Grade C or above at GCSE or the equivalent are required. This must include English and Mathematics, regardless of which subjects you wish to study. Additionally, you will need a Grade B or above in the subject you wish to study at A Level.

Each accepted applicant must complete the following steps in order to secure his or her place at BSB:
- Signed Parent-School Agreement (PSA)
- Pay non-refundable Registration fee of BD100
- Pay Book Deposit fee of BD50

Enrolment to the school is not considered final until the PSA is signed and returned, all documentation has been received, and registration fees and the term's tuition fees are paid. Once a child has been admitted to the British School of Bahrain the first term is probationary.
