At the British School of Bahrain, we acknowledge that the key to our success is a culture of unity and teamwork. We are proud of the fact that we are a truly international school where people of different tribe, religion and nationality are committed to working together to accomplish something extraordinary.

Combining so many different strands of the community generates part of the school’s energy. The energy is almost tangible in the exceptional learning, boisterous playtimes and state of the art facilities.

Our outstanding examination results at A level, BTEC and GCSE in 2016 have been a cause for much celebration. These results are proof that the school is living up to its ethos of excellence, responsibility and individuality.

I am delighted that the introduction of the IB coincides with my appointment as Head of School. The aim of the IB – to develop internationally minded people who help to create a better and more peaceful world – matches my personal educational ethos and underpins everything that the BSB has to offer.

I hope that our website gives you a taste of the BSB. I look forward to welcoming you to our school.

Julie Anne Gilbert
Head of School

We pride ourselves in being a school with an open mind; welcoming and accepting all kinds of students and friends from all over the world. This is one wonderful fact that has never changed throughout the school’s history and is just as true today as it was when we both joined the BSB. We were met with open arms in our first days here and are now proud to welcome all students and parents whether old or new.

The BSB now has nearly 1800 students and is still steadily expanding in both number and diversity: we are so privileged to attend a school with students from over 65 different nations, each with their own individual culture, beliefs and history that as individuals and as a school we benefit so greatly from. Even though we are called the British School, we truly have become an international school.

Our school is a hotspot for talent; whether it is on the football pitch, in the art room, the music room or even as a part of one of our academies. Our wide array of facilities means that no one is ever left to express their talents alone. Not only is the BSB full of extracurricular activities; it is also highly academically talented. Our school boasts many remarkable departments with incredible teachers running them. These departments have helped our school to become one of the leading schools on the island.

This year we are truly honored as Head Boy and Girl to lead the Student Council and to represent the student body. The Student Council is formed from year group representatives aged ten to eighteen it allows all of the students to put forward their ideas for the school as well as to have an opportunity to voice any concerns that they may have.

The British school of Bahrain is truly a unique school, boasting a highly gifted student body, incredible facilities, a wide array of experiences and cultures and an outstanding group of staff members who will put in every effort to make the students time at the British School of Bahrain one of enjoyment, challenge and achievement.
